Ingredients
Apple Filling
- 1.5 tsps Cinnamon
- 1.5 tbsps Sugar, give or take
- 1 tbsp Flour
- 6 Apple, Granny Smith
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
Topping
- .75 c Dark Brown Sugar
- .75 c Old Fashioned Oats
- .75 c Flour
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 4 ozs Butter, cold
Directions
Preheat oven to 350Ā°. Butter or spray an 8×8 baking dish. Set aside.
Mix togetherĀ 1-2 T sugar, 1 T flour and 2 tsp +/- cinnamon. Set aside. Peel and slice / cube apples. Toss apples with lemon juice to coat, then toss apples with cinnamon-flour-sugar mix. Place in prepared baking dish, ensuring there is at least 1/2 – 3/4″ space on top for crisp.
In a separate bowl, blend together all topping ingredients. Using a pastry blender, fork or bare hands, cut in butter until mixture resembled pea-sized crumbs. Spread evenly topping over apples.
Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until topping is golden brown and apples are soft and bubbling.
